This is a Canterbury Tales role-playing game. You heard me right.

Why
One day, a young wench named rita thought, "Wouldn't it be hilarious if Chaucer's pilgrims had Livejournals?" When people actually showed interest in this idea instead of berating her nerdiness, she created this community. Rita is neither a veteran role-player nor a Chaucer scholar, but she thought it would be fun.

How It Works
Players create a journal for a Canterbury Tales pilgrim and post/comment in this community as that character. Community membership is limited to character journals, but everyone is welcome to follow along and post comments.

Rules
1. Stay in character. If you want to say something from your own point of view, log out of your character's journal and comment as yourself. "Prologues"/"stage directions" are ok though.
2. Swing by and post/comment at least once a week (although more often would be nice).
3. You are welcome to play more than one character if you're up to it.

Language
Middle English; modern English; hybrids; it's up to you.

How to Join
Check the character list below. If a name has no journal name next to it, it's free for the taking! Create a journal for the character and apply to the community. Be sure to also e-mail Rita (ritabethebert@yahoo.com) with the character you want and the name of the journal you've created for him/her.
